The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Thursday said they welcome the possibility that China will donate rifles to the security forces in the country.
"Alam po ninyo kung matulad man sa atin, kung meron tayong pangangailangan at mas makatitipid tayo sa ibibigay sa ating tulong, yung ibang perang gagastusin natin dun sa pangangailangan na yan ay magagamit pa natin sa iba pa nating pangangailangan ay mabuting balita po 'yun," said Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Public Affairs Office Chief Col. Edgard Arevalo.
"So in that particular regard kung meron po tayong balita... may napabalita na magdodonate sa atin ng mga armas, okay po yan," he added.
Arevalo said that a team will check the firearms that will be donated, noting that the equipment should work side by side with the weapons in the military's inventory.
"Kailangan po na pwede natin siyang gamitin alongside the armaments that we have in our inventory. So lahat po 'yan ay magiging bahagi ng pagaaral," he added.
