Introduced in 2005.
Its mission Lead In Fighter Trainer it is acquired to train, and prepare Philippine Air Force
pilots to fly super sonic jet fighters/aircraft at the same time it could function as a Light
Combat Aircraft of the Philippine Air Force.
The FA-50 has a maximum speed of mach 1.5.
On March 2014, the Department of National Defense signed a contract for 12 FA-50, worth
18.9 billion pesos, the FA-50 was acquired through Government to Government
transaction along with the government of South Korea.
